VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Holistic Colour Therapy
Aim: To train candidates to a professionally competent level enabling them to provide holistic colour therapy which meets client needs and to demonstrate a full and accurate understanding of the application of interpersonal skills
Objectives: To develop knowledge and understanding of the uses and limits of interpersonal skills and their integration with physical therapies; to become competent in the application of holistic colour therapy and develop understanding of the relationship of colour therapy to auras and chakras
This Diploma covers the concepts of the history and theory of colour therapy, colour, auras and chakras and includes interpersonal skills and consultation. It also includes counselling techniques and the relationship of colour therapy to auras and chakras. It covers the use of colour in relation to other therapies such as yoga and metamorphic technique to give a thorough grounding in the subject. The aim of this course is to train students to a professionally competent level enabling them to provide holistic colour therapy which meets client needs, develop understanding of the relationship of colour therapy to the aura and chakras and to demonstrate a full and accurate understanding of the application of interpersonal skills and their integration with physical therapies. This course contains the following VTCT units:
- VR52 Use interpersonal skills with therapy clients
- VR106 Assess the client and apply holistic colour therapy
- VR02 Support Health, Safety and Security in the Workplace
- VR74 Support Employment Standards
Assessment: This qualification requires the candidate to provide evidence of competence in the form of case studies or individual treatments to cover range statements, and demonstrate sufficient knowledge to be able to explain colour therapy and provide it safely, effectively and consistently. Independent study is an essential part of this course and you will be required to complete both practical and theoretical assignments at home.
You will be required to attend a half day (mutually agreed date) to submit your portfolio, take a short multiple choice exam on health and safety and observed assessment of a colour therapy treatment.
