Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy Massage is a wonderfully relaxing therapy which helps stimulate and relax the body and mind. It is an effective aid to relaxation and helps to ease away stress, adhesions (knots) which cause muscle aches and tension, loosen stiff joints, aids cellular renewal and removes toxic waste from the body.

A single massage is enjoyable and highly beneficial in the short term when dealing with stress, muscular tension, and fatigue.  The effects of massage are cumulative and so a course of treatments can have the effect of strengthening and toning the entire body mechanism, and so to help prevent unnecessary injuries and sprains that could otherwise occur due to excess tension and stress on the body. Depending upon what the individual needs, massage can calm or stimulate the nervous system and so help reduce fatigue and leave the receiver with a feeling of replenished energy.  Massage helps to you mentally, physically, and spiritually.

The skin absorbs the essential oils during massage, for instance, and pass into the bloodstream.  The circulatory system then carries the oils to the various organs and systems of the body.  The ‘aroma’ of the oils is inhaled, and passes into the lungs which have a rich blood supply and they readily absorb the vapours.  These travel around the body for several hours before being excreted from the body naturally. The action of the oils will depend on the blend used.  Some will be stimulating and warming, some uplifting and refreshing, while others may detoxify or have a sedative effect.
